New Technology, Better Quality

Are you planning on taking the family on a cross country vacation in your RV for the summer? You will find hundreds of things to entertain you and your family along the way. But what about a little late-night TV? What if you want to catch the news and see what is happening back home and in the area you happen to be in at the time?

A portable satellite dish for your RV can keep you up on what is happening and provide some entertainment on the road in between seeing the sights. Unlike the past, these systems have come so far that you can expect more than a handful of channels with hazy reception like you may be used to.

These satellite systems and a subscription to DIRECTV or DISH Network bring the quality you can expect in a house on the road with you. They have gotten much smaller and lighter in weight over the years. They are also a lot more durable than before, making them ideal for just about any kind of weather you may encounter.

If your current system is more than a few years old, it is probably time to upgrade. The advancements in quality and efficiency make newer models a big jump forward from their predecessors. Take a look at the quality you have and then take a look at the quality you could have.

Satellite To Go

In motion satellite systems have provided RV owners with a function many thought they would never have. Now you do not have to pull over and park in order to watch television in the RV. You can be behind the wheel and the family can be watching their favorite sitcom without having to stop.

There have been several incarnations of in motion satellite systems in the past few years. But if you are considering this option, the best way to go is with a system that uses GPS technology. Instead of internal cords that can get tangled and need to unwind, causing a loss of signal, systems that incorporate GPS sidestep that pitfall.

With an in motion satellite, you can be on the road and still get excellent satellite service without signal loss or the need to pull over and remain stationary. Some of the latest models are as small as 12-inches high. This means no devices the size of a telephone pole attached to your RV. They are easy to set up and then forget about as their really is little else to do other than enjoy your shows.

Portable Antennas

A portable satellite antenna is a good thing to have on the road in your RV. Many of the current generation of antennas can receive local channels wherever you may be in high definition. Older models required you to get outside and set them up every time you wanted to pull over and watch a little TV. That is not the case anymore.

You can easily find antennas out there these days, made by companies like Winegard, that can be cranked from inside the RV. This eliminates the hassle of having to go outside and climb on top to get yourself set up.

There are enough challenges on the road that watching TV shouldn't be one of them. An antenna that is built to last in just about any weather conditions and can be cranked from inside the RV makes life a lot easier.

Even when you are on the move, many of the antennas available today can go as low as four inches above your roof when not in use. This can prove to be helpful when dealing with height clearances in tunnels, toll booths and bridges.
